October is almost over but I have a feeling that summer was yesterday. And in no time Advent will begin and Christmas will come. And we will wonder: Where did the time go?
As soon as temperature drops below 20°, I’m ready to take out winter decorations. Which was three weeks ago. 😁 But I restrain myself. I patiently wait until All Saints Day is over. Then it’s disco and kitsch everywhere.
There’s no better cure for grey skies and foggy mornings than warm and cheerful home. I don’t mind fallen leaves and there is beauty in autumn when the Nature prepares for seasonal rest, but still I need light and warmth.
This part is easy, changing or adding decorations doesn’t take much time. But some people get an itch to update the whole house “just in time for Christmas and New Year”. If you happen to be one of those people, stop right there. It’s not going to happen. There is no way a serious work can be done in two months. Unless you stop by a nearest furniture store and take whatever is available. I really hope you like yourself more than that.
Just last week I had a prospect come to me with an idea of redecorating one of her rooms for Christmas. Yes, it would look great. Yes, I could do it. I already see it in my mind. No, she can’t get it in two months. Sorry. It doesn’t work that way. After she was done sulking, I explained to her that she can have her new room by Easter next year.
It’s not about me, it’s about finding the right furniture, flooring, decorations, and have them delivered. It’s about finding a builder and schedule the work needed. Good things take time.
