So is a project I’m restarting soon. After several turbulent months and no communication, I decided to try once more and just walk in. And I’m so glad I did. But let me start at the beginning.
My hairdresser, a young, talented, adorable man, whom I met three years ago, wanted to open his own hair salon. I remember looking at boring grey walls and asking if he wanted the same in his space. Noooo, he LOVES pink and green. Oh, really, so do I. And just by accident I’m an interior designer and I can create a pink and green space, just how you like it. Being his silly self, he agreed. The next day I showed him a moodboard. I had him at the wallpaper. 😁 We agreed to transform his salon, as soon as he had one, but there was no hurry.
Fast forward to this year, he had a running business, I quit my job, moved and started my own business. I sent him a message, no reply. Ok, he’s busy. So was I and weeks went by. Last month I was in his neighbourhood and stopped by. It was closed. Hmmm. I sent another message, no reply. What’s going on? Is he ill? Did he move+ He’s probably mad at me, I wasn’t in touch for months. There goes our pink and green project. I hope he’s doing fine. But I’ll try one more time to see him and explain. And after finishing some other things that needed my time, there I went.
Well, what he was doing was nothing short of a Hollywood movie. It included a bookkeeper, a lot of unpaid bills, bags of money and international chase. And I wondered why he didn’t reply to my messages. 😂 He was saving his business and his honour, in short. It all ended well (except for a bookkeeper) and we’re ready for a bit of renovation and transformation.
If you find this story chaotic, imagine the two of us in conversation, explaining the last six months to each other. 😂 But it’s meant to be. It had to be, there’s lots of green in it.
